My love story
The night I met my husband on the 7th November, 17 years ago.
I knew I would grow old with him, I could imaging in my mind the two of us sitting on the porch having a cup of tea very content with life.
We had both separately been invited to attend a cruise on Sydney Harbour. I only knew my neighbour & her husband who had taken me along as they had a spare ticket.
When I got to the boat my neighbours sister arrived wanting her ticket – which was given to me. I insisted on going home but they also insisted on buying me another ticket.
I noticed that I was the only person on board that was not Italian & one Aussie.
By the end of the night this Aussie Man approached me and enquired to how & why I was there, I told him not to waste his time with me as I was a single mum and there are plenty of girls on board that he could probably score with.
But …. we talked all night & it felt like I had known him forever.
We caught up for dinner 2 days later & basically have been together since.
My husband designed and then he & his 3 brothers & father built the Sydney Glass Island. We were married on the Sydney Glass Island one year later.
We had the ceremony on the top deck and I walked down the aisle under the stars & city lights – it was truly magic.
We are not at the stage of sitting on the porch in our rocking chairs but we are pretty content with life – we are healthy, have a roof over our heads , food on the table and a healthy & happy daughter.
Married life is always full of ups and downs but thank goodness there are very few downs .
